Information You Send
A name, telephone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the provider that operates the result service. Cheektowaga Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches. A message sent through the contact route contains only the information included in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. Those records are reviewed in aggregate for maintenance and basic audience measurement. Cookies or similar tools may support ordinary analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
Technical information helps operate the service, investigate faults, measure traffic, and improve the reference material. Visitor lists are not sold, and the service does not create individual visitor profiles from ordinary browsing activity.
External Services and Links
Official portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored search providers operate under their own privacy terms. Information submitted on an Erie County, Town of Cheektowaga, New York State, or third-party page is handled under that party's policy rather than this one.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and technical-support providers may process logs to keep the service available. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic data described above. Information is disclosed when required by valid legal process and is not otherwise shared as a visitor list.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or member profiles maintained by Cheektowaga Residents Directory.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information through the contact route, contact us so it can be removed.
Privacy Requests and Public Records
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal data held in the contact mailbox or server logs by using the Contact page. New York does not have a universal data-broker deletion statute in the research reviewed. The NY SHIELD Act, General Business Law §§ 899-aa and 899-bb, concerns breach notice and reasonable safeguards for computerized private information; it is not a universal deletion portal. A record kept by the Town of Cheektowaga, Erie County, or New York State must be addressed to its custodian. New York FOIL is Public Officers Law Article 6, §§ 84–90 and governs access to existing government records, not deletion from private reference pages.
Policy Revisions
Material changes will be posted in this policy. Continuing to use the service after an update means the revised policy applies to that use.
